Originally launched in 1942 during Gibson’s famed Banner era, the LG-2 stepped in as the successor to the L-00 and quickly earned its place among Gibson’s most beloved small-body acoustics. It features a solid Sitka spruce top supported by traditional scalloped X-bracing, paired with solid mahogany back and sides for a rich, resonant tone. The body is accented with three-ply top and single-ply back binding, while the mahogany neck sports a comfortable Rounded profile and a compound dovetail joint secured with hot hide glue. An unbound rosewood fretboard with 20 frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays adds understated elegance. Completing the look is a sloped, rectangular rosewood bridge with two mother-of-pearl dots, bone nut and saddle, TUSQ® bridge pins, Grover® strap tuners with white buttons, and a tortoise teardrop pickguard for authentic vintage character.
