The JPC Short Scale Bass is the brainchild of Castedosa Guitars’ Joel Peterson. After testing the prototype at NAMM 2026, Empire Music’s Anthony Pecora worked with Joel and Carlos to make a few thoughtful tweaks and create a version unique to Empire.

This bass shares the core features found across the JPC lineup, including the Conchers body shape, quartersawn maple neck, and comfortable “C” neck profile. What sets the Empire Music version apart is the reverse-position Curtis Novak PB-90 Precision pickup (a pickup Anthony loves in one of his personal P Basses), non-painted neck, matching headstock, and optional rosewood fingerboard.
