New for 2023, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the ’63 Jaguar Deluxe Closet Classic. Exactly 60 years after its sleekly alluring predecessor, this sultry big cat is loaded with looks, sound and vibe that expertly evokes the Jaguar guitar mere months after its summer 1962 debut.

The two-piece select alder body wears Deluxe Closet Classic finishes in Aged Shoreline Gold, Aged Inca Silver and Aged Burgundy Mist Metallic. This finely aged finish treatment imparts the look of a guitar owned with pride, well cared for and religiously polished over many years. Moderate finish checking and hardware oxidization, along with mild parts discoloration, combine into the distinct look and feel of an instrument that has evolved into something complex and refined, like a fine wine.

The guitar’s rift-sawn maple neck has a ’62-style “C” profile, topped by a 9.5”-radius flat-lam rosewood fingerboard with 22 narrow tall (6105) frets and a bone nut. Dual Custom Shop hand-wound ’62 Jaguar pickups deliver crystal-clear highs with rich harmonics and tight low end, with vintage Jaguar wiring and controls. Other premium features include three-ply parchment pickguard, Fender “Floating Vibrato” tailpiece with vintage-style six-saddle bridge and mute, vintage-style tuners, wing string tree, deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
