The smallest amount of the most stunning Pale Moon Ebony was acquired by the Martin Custom Shop and we had to build a small group of amazing guitars. This 000-42 Custom Shop model is absolutely incredible!

This Custom Shop 000-42 offers the finest tonewoods and the most resonant and light-weight necks and internal components.

As one of Martin's worldwide Custom Shop Expert Dealers, we have unfettered access to the Martin Custom Shop and their incredible world-renowned wood reserves. Empire Music Owner Joe Ravita has hand-selected these specific wood sets and designed the instrument in conjunction with Martin Custom Shop Master Designer Jimmie Kleintop. The goal was to offer the finest sonic experience Martin has to offer with the highest quality wood sets on Earth.

When the Martin Custom Shop calls and says that they have something special, you drop what you are doing and go right to the factory. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hand-select this incredible Pale Moon Ebony.

To ensure the guitars reached the highest quality levels, Joe hand-selected each neck, front and rear block. Hundreds of parts were inspected, weighed and sorted to find the finest examples of each component.

Pale Moon Ebony offers a world-class sonic experience. Incredible clarity, complex overtones and a powerful focused bass response are all qualities players will enjoy. Our work with Martin offers us the ability to take that focused and complex tone and make sure it is full and rich.

We paired the Pale Moon Ebony with Premium Grade Sitka Spruce. This offers the most balance and power while staying full and warm. This is a perfect example of where an Adirondack top likely would have sounded harsh and glassy. The Sitka Spruce is lush and dynamic.

Notice we also added bottom-end and warmth by going with the 24.9” scale via a 000 model and not an OM.

The Golden Era bracing allows the top to be super responsive and reflective of the player. Fingerstyle players will love the amazing tone that is drawn from the instrument with ease and strummers will find that this guitar has a surprising amount of headroom.

The 000-42 has grown to be an aspirational model and the Custom Shop has taken it to the next level with this incredible Pale Moon Ebony!
