Description
This Epiphone Sheraton II is in VERY GOOD overall condition. Cosmetically, it is in very good shape but does show wear/blemishes in places. This is a used instrument, so it will have finish scratching and playwear. Any significant marks will be mentioned in the description. All used models receive a full factory setup and hand-inspection before shipping.
~Guitar pictured is the actual guitar that you will receive~
The Epiphone Sheraton-II, once hailed by Blues legend John Lee Hooker as "an out-did 335", combines perfect semi-hollowbody tone with impeccable looks. In 1958 Epiphone produced its first guitars in the Gibson Kalamazoo factory. It was a momentous time for both companies and especially for Epiphone fans and dealers who only a few years before had feared the company might not survive the decade.
The Sheraton not only loudly declared that Epiphone was back in business, but it also heralded a new era in guitar design that put the Kalamazoo factor way out in front in giving musicians exciting new instruments. For decades, Epiphone and Gibson had been bitter rivals in archtop design. After the two companies merged, engineer’s from both companies combined decades of expertise and trade secrets to create the Electric Spanish (ES) collection which included the legendary ES-335 semi-hollowbody.
Note: After close inspection, this instrument has general light finish scratching throughout the body, neck, and headstock. Pick scratching, scratching on cutaway and around knobs and heavier scratching on the back. (See pics)
