This Taylor Empire Select 414ce combines the warm tones of Western Red Cedar with the balanced and “woody” tones of Mahogany.

Cedar tops are softer than spruce tops, which allows for a warmer and more “broken-in” tone.  Cedar tops offer a quick response that allows light/medium attack players to enjoy full tones with modest effort.  Lively mids and an overall rounder tone offers a beautiful warm tone.  While not as loud at peak volume as spruce, Cedar will allow players to fill a room and shape the tone of their sound with their playing attack.

Tropical Mahogany back and sides offer some of the most classic tones in modern music history.  Players will immediately notice the true and balanced tones produced by Mahogany.  Additionally, players will notice the strong focus and lack overtones.  You will hear what you play.

We love this tonewood combination for players who want the warm/woody tones of mahogany with the extra warmth and body that the cedar top will provide!
